army of darkness

Maybe a little something unusual on 'something blue' but I put together a special little art piece for my cousin and her fiance John. He's a big fan of the Evil Dead series, The Army Of Darkness, and Bruce Campbell in general. So I created this piece for them hoping it'll end up somewhere at their reception! I think it's awesome, and kudos to them for posing this way at Trinity park, with nothing around them but grass, trees, a stick in John's left hand, and the imagination.

ashley and neal

I've never shot at the water gardens down town, so when Lazer (aka: Ashley) and Neal asked me too, I of course said yes-but had my reservations about the location it being so monochromatic (at times) and angular. But I was completely wrong, and their engagement session proves it! I love every shot, but I don't want to give them all away, so here's a few favs.

jenny and john

The wait is finally over! Here are some more of Jenny's engagement session. She wanted to take pictures at Cityview Lanes off of Oakmont Blvd down near south Hulen. Avid bowlers, they are there every week, so we decided get some pictures done. Also a big thanks to the lanes for letting me use their alley for a location shoot. It was greatness!

Shelly, shot with 800 speed fuji film, available window light only. This shot, again, affirms my love affair with film.

rachel

I was accused recently of taking a portrait that 'showed every wrinkle, line, nook, and crevice' on this particular subjects face. Call me crazy but I love that. It's part of a person's character, their makeup, their design. For these reasons I equally love this shot. Rachel, a bride I shot probably a year ago or more, posed for some simple window lit closeups. I shot them with film, and film being the superior dynamic photographic medium that it proves time and again to be, the shots came back revealing all her little freckles. Ah! Greatness!

mark and terri

Congrats to Mark and Terri who married this past October on quite a wet and rainy day. Despite all that, though, they looked great, the gardens looked amazing, and it actually ended very happily ever after.
